First, lets take a look at why does our body need breakfast to function correctly.
When you are a sleep your organs (brain, kidney, hearth, stomach, ect.) are still working. For that to happen they need energy. The best source of energy are carbohydrates. Before going to bed your body’s metabolism slows down so it can store more energy for the long night. This obviously means that even when you are a sleep, you are still burning calories.

After 6 – 7 hours of sleep, your body has no glucose left in it. If you do not restore the needed source of energy your body is going to start braking down fat tissue and muscle tissue to glucose so it can feed the brain (it puts your body in a starvation mode). If you want to start looking like a pile of bones keep skipping breakfast.

Eating breakfast has a lot of benefits. Studies show that people who eat breakfast show better results when at school.

It also increases your metabolic rate (your calorie burning rate). Some experts believe that it keeps your metabolism running for hours after you have had your breakfast. This means that you are going to lose weight for 3 – 4 hours.

It gives you a good boost of energy. Instead of drinking a cup of coffee each morning have one or two apples.

It is true that any breakfast is better than no breakfast, but you might want to avoid some foods that rich on sugar, trans fats, sodium, and saturated fats. Try to avoid sugary cereals, they have a little bit of everything.

Your breakfast should include a good source of protein (yogurt, milk, nuts, eggs, meat) and fiber (good sources of fiber are fruits, oats, whole wheat/whole grain bread, muesli). This combination will help you feel full until your next meal.

Don’t forget to take a glass of water with your breakfast. Water is nature’s best detoxifier (it will get rid of toxins hiding in your body). Toxins are bad for you in any possible way. They can slow fat loss, diminish muscle gains, decrease the metabolism, and drain you of energy. So drink plenty of water.

If you are really having a hard time eating breakfast early in the morning you can split up your meal in 2 – 3 mini-meals.

Whole wheat toast with a little peanut butter and a banana, 3 – 4 egg whites.
5 – 6 fried egg whites with olive oil, whole wheat toast.
A cup of muesli with low-fat yogurt.
Low fat yogurt mixed with fresh fruit in a blender for a high-vitamin smoothie.

As you can see breakfast gives us a lot of benefits. Now you know what it is called the most important meal of the day.
